Rudy Giuliani will appear in court in New York City on Thursday in connection with a defamation case to explain why he still has to give up his assets as part of the settlement.
US District Judge Lewis Liman issued the order on Monday after plaintiffs Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, told the court that Giuliani had evacuated his house while their representatives visited the premises.
Liman had originally placed Oct. 29 as the deadline for Giuliani to turn over his materials to Freeman and Moss’ representatives. The judge then ordered Giuliani and his lawyers to appear in court on Thursday. The status conference was originally scheduled to be held over the phone but was later changed to an in-person appearance.
In a court filing filed Monday, attorneys for Freeman and Moss wrote that plaintiffs’ representatives visited Giuliani’s apartment on Oct. 31 after logging in the previous day. When they arrived, they found the house had been evacuated four weeks ago.

“Save for the rugs, dining room table, small stray furniture and inexpensive wall art, and a few small items like dishes and stereo equipment, the Apartment is empty of everything,” it read.
Freeman and Moss filed another letter Tuesday after receiving reports that Giuliani was driving his Mercedes-Benz in Palm Beach, Florida, which was ordered to be turned over to plaintiffs last week, according to court documents.

“This latest revelation shows that he either does not understand those obligations or, perhaps, is deliberately ignoring them,” it read.

Ted Goodman, Giuliani’s spokesman, told Fox News Digital: “Opposition advisers, who are either reckless or willfully deceptive, are just trying to continue to bully and intimidate Mayor Giuliani until he’s out of business and homeless. This is just another way they’re doing it. ‘We used our system.’ The once-sacred justice system should affect every American.”
“Mayor Giuliani made his property and property available as ordered. Few items were stored within the last year and anything else that was removed was related to his two live broadcasts that are broadcast every weekday on all of his social media,” Goodman said.

US District Judge Beryl Howell had already given Freeman and Moss a default sentence in August.

His assets include his $5 million Upper East Side apartment, a 1980 Mercedes, his television and luxury watches.
