Bill Belichick supports Eli Manning’s Hall of Fame pursuit
Eli Manning was named one of the semifinalists for the current Pro Football Hall of Fame ballot two weeks ago as he bids his time in Canton, Ohio, in his first year.
The former New York Giants star has a Hall of Fame resume with two Super Bowl championships — both over Tom Brady and the undefeated New England Patriots — and 57,023 passing yards and 366 touchdown passes. Those numbers were among the highest in the NFL when he retired from the sport after the 2019 season.

However, getting into the Hall of Fame in his first year on the ballot is a tall order as he will have to outlast the likes of Antonio Gates, Torry Holt, Reggie Wayne, Darren Woodson, Fred Taylor and a handful of others who have made it. on the ballot for a long time.
Former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick appeared on ESPN’s “ManningCast” Monday during the Los Angeles Rams’ win over the Minnesota Vikings and backed the four-time Pro Bowl quarterback.
“Eli, you don’t look that good in that hoodie, but you’ll look good in a gold jacket,” Belichick told Manning. “I’m sure that will happen, and you should join Peyton in the gold jacket.”

Manning told the New York Post last week that he’s not so sure.
“I think it’s different because everything comes out of your hands, you don’t campaign about it, you don’t try to talk to people about it or prove your point,” he said. “If I get in, it’s going to be an awesome, unbelievable couple of days down in New Orleans, and if I don’t, it’s not going to ruin it for me. I’m not going to be in a bad situation, myself.” I will not be ashamed.
“Just being included in the top 15 this year is a huge honor, so I’m looking at all of this as a positive and exciting thing.”
