Beyonce channels Marilyn Monroe at the Glamor Women of the Year Awards

Beyoncé you get great hair inspiration from Marilyn Monroe.

Beyoncé, 43, showed off her new haircut at the 2024 Glamor Women of the Year Awards on Tuesday, October 8, while supporting her mother. Tina Knowles as she was honored as one of the Mothers of the Year. The singer’s coiffure looked like Monroe’s signature hairstyle – a platinum blonde color that was parted on the side and done in a bold style.

Beyoncé upped her glamor in a way that Monroe, who died aged 36 in 1969, would approve of. Her outfit consisted of a butter yellow knit top tucked into a gold silk skirt from Sergio Hudson’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection. Accessorized with a matching belt with silver hardware.

Tina, 70, wore a black Amsale suit, with an off-the-shoulder neckline and lots of flowers on her hemline. The women posed for a photo together at the event, side by side Angela Beyince, Samantha Barr and Beyoncé’s Destiny’s Child bandmate, Kelly Rowland.

This isn’t the first time Beyoncé has channeled her inner Monroe as of late. Last month, she turned heads in a gold Gucci dress while celebrating the launch of her American whiskey, SirDavis, at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris.

Beyoncé’s sequin-thrown number was reminiscent of Monroe’s glittering William Travilla dress, which she wore in the 1953 film. Men Like Blondes. Monroe also performed in the same manner that same year at the Photoplay Gold Medal Awards.

Beyoncé perhaps took inspiration from the late famous actor to achieve an American look while promoting her new Whiskey. After all, many other celebrities have taken pages from Monroe’s playbook before.

Kim Kardashianfor example, she wore Monroe’s famous Bob Mackie dress to the 2022 Met Gala, which was themed “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.”

Scarlett Johansson, Candice Swanepoel, Ashley Benson, Elle Fanning, Blake Lively again Rihanna and they’ve all featured Monroe on magazine covers, Halloween costumes and more.

Beyoncé was linked to Monroe in 2015, when she graced the cover of Get Out Magazine. At the time, her hair was styled in Monroe’s go-to coiffure, and she accessorized with pearl necklaces, also known as one of the actress’ favorite accessories.
