Zelenskyy in the US to present the latest peace plan to Biden, Harris, Trump | Russia-Ukraine war News

The president of Ukraine begins his longest trip by visiting a weapons factory in Pennsylvania.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has begun a visit to the United States where he will present Kyiv’s plan to end the war that has lasted for more than two and a half years against the invasion of the Russian military to US President Joe Biden as well. like election rivals Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
Zelenskyy, who will attend the annual meeting of the United Nations on Tuesday and Wednesday, called on Ukraine’s allies to help achieve a “joint victory for a truly just peace”.
He is expected to present his peace proposals, which he calls a “plan for victory”, to Biden on Thursday, before meeting with Harris, who is the vice president. His office said he expects to meet with Republican presidential candidate Trump on Thursday or Friday, although a date has not been officially announced.
The president of Ukraine is in the US after a summer of intense fighting: Moscow is advancing in eastern Ukraine and Kyiv is taking tracts of the Russian Kursk region.
Zelenskyy was suddenly stopped under incredibly tight security at a Pennsylvania munitions factory that produces 155-millimeter artillery shells.
Shells are essential to the Ukrainian war effort and it has already received more than 3 million of them from the US.
“I started my visit to the United States by expressing my gratitude to all factory workers,” Zelenskyy wrote on the X site, including photos of himself shaking hands with factory workers.
“It is in places like this that you can feel that the world of democracy can win,” he wrote.
No details about Ukraine’s latest peace proposals have been made public.
Zelenskyy said that Biden will be the first foreign leader to see this program “in full” and that it will also be presented to “all the leaders of our partner countries”.
He said “the whole plan” will be ready “at the beginning of November”.
The proposals, he told the press on Friday, aim for “quick and strong measures by our strategic partners”.
One of those measures, he said, “is related to strengthening Ukraine’s weapons” while the other seeks “a clear place for Ukraine in the international security structure”.
The 155mm shells made at the Scranton plant are used in howitzer systems, which are large, long-barreled guns that can hit targets up to 15 to 20 miles (24 to 32 km) away.
Zelenskyy has also been pressuring the US and other allies to allow it to use long-range weapons provided by the West to strike military bases inside Russia.
Biden has so far refused, and Moscow says such an authorization would be tantamount to NATO countries being “at war” with Russia.
Zelenskyy’s visit also coincided with US preparations for a new $375m military aid package for Ukraine.
Two US officials told Reuters last week that the package would include patrol boats, some high-mobility artillery rocket system (HIMARS) ammunition and 155mm and 105mm artillery shells.
