Why Norman Reedus Misses Working With Andrew Lincoln and Jon Bernthal

“I really liked working with him John [Bernthal] again Andy [Lincoln] back in the day because everybody was in it,” Reedus, 55, told Us Weekly only at PaleyFest NY red carpet The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – Carol’s Book on Saturday, October 19. “Everyone read all the scriptures, instead of just their line.”
Reedus continued, “Andy would call me this morning on the way to work and say, ‘look at this scene we’re doing today. What if we try this? What do you think about this, about that?’ And then as soon as the incident happened, as soon as the day was over, I would go back to my car and he would call me immediately before I even got out of the parking lot. ‘You think we hit that? Think we hit that? I missed that kind of relationship.”
The actor, who first appeared in the third episode of the hit AMC series, played Daryl Dixon in. The Walking Dead universe since the horror franchise began – making him one of the longest-running actors in TV history.

When the show premiered in 2010, it followed a group of people at an Atlanta Survivor Camp trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. The group was led by Lincoln’s Rick, and Bernthal’s Shane and included Melissa McBrideof Carol, among others. In the nine seasons Daryl and Rick have been on screen together, viewers have seen their relationship evolve from antagonism to mutual respect. By the end of Rick’s run on the show, he was the person Daryl could trust the most to stand by decisions – good or bad.

While Reedus counted his The Book of Carol costar McBride, 59, among his best hits, he admitted that as the seasons went on and the cast grew, it became harder to connect with new collars.
“Toward the end of what we did in Georgia, it didn’t,” Reedus said. “There’s a lot of new actors and you’re joining a really big show, you’re a catch in the first 10 minutes and it’s a t-shirt and we’ve worked really hard to get where we are, you know. what can i say I miss that with these guys.”

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – Carol’s Book picks up where Season 1 of the series left off. Daryl still struggles with his decision to stay in France as their safe place – the Nest – is attacked. The power also increases when Daryl and his friends hear that the “Walkers” can run.
In the first one The Walking Dead series, Reedus and McBride’s characters had a strong sibling bond and referred to each other as “best friends.”
Now back with his longtime friend and former co-star, Reedus said Daryl is trying not to be “such a hot character” in the spinoff — which has already been renewed for a third season — and is instead trying to “have conversations, hold back. .”
“I try to play it 1729740739 the way Daryl grows up,” Reedus said Us. “He tries to make decisions based on other actors he meets along the way.”
Reedus showed Daryl’s growth over the years, telling We, “I think in the beginning Daryl wasn’t a great negotiator, and now I try to get into situations and think, what would Hershel do? What would Rick do?”
