The Globe receives the Five Golden Arrow Award three years in a row

Reinforcing its leadership in corporate governance, Globe received the prestigious Five Golden Arrow Award from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) this year, the third time in a row that the company has received the coveted honor.

The Golden Arrow Awards are part of the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) program, which assesses publicly listed companies and insurance companies across the ASEAN region in key governance areas such as shareholder rights, fair management, transparency, and board accountability, all of which are critical to maintaining strong business management practices.

Being one of only five publicly listed companies, and the only telco in the Philippines to receive this honor, underscores Globe’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and fair business practices.

This achievement also demonstrates Globe’s ability to balance the interests of its shareholders and stakeholders while ensuring long-term sustainability in an ever-changing business environment.

The Golden Arrow is awarded to companies that have achieved at least 80 points in the ACGS assessment on all five performance levels. The Globe scored the highest score of 120 to 130, earning the coveted five-star recognition.

“By continuing to strive for governance excellence, Globe has strengthened its position as a trusted leader in the industry and a key driver of corporate governance standards across the region. With this latest accolade, we are in a good position to continue improving our management practices, ensuring that Globe remains at the forefront of corporate governance in the Philippines and beyond,” said Atty. Marisalve Ciocson-Co, Globe’s Chief Compliance Officer and SVP of Legal and Compliance.

Present at the 2024 awards ceremony held at the Manila Marriott Hotel were key representatives of Globe’s Legal and Compliance team, including Atty. Ciocson-Co; He said. Ria Caganda-Vistan, AVP; and Paralegals Grace Opeña and Harriette Martinez.

The event recognized a total of 111 publicly listed companies and 25 insurance companies in the ASEAN region that have demonstrated success in corporate governance.

Globe’s continued success in the Golden Arrow Awards is consistent with its efforts to comply with the Philippine Code of Corporate Governance and international best practices in governance.

This year, Globe also received an MSCI ESG Rating of “AA” for the second time in a row, reflecting its Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) leadership in the communications industry. MSCI ESG research examines the governance structures, policies, objectives, performance metrics, and any related conflicts of companies. Globe’s “AA” rating reflects its proactive approach to risk management and its commitment to sustainable business practices. Globe also received SBTI approval for its zero-emissions approach until 2050.
