A Wisconsin woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly broke into a home and pretended to know the resident.
The suspect, Joanna Kelly Lee, was charged with burglary and criminal trespass, according to the Madison Police Department. He was arrested around 10:40 pm on Tuesday.
The police said they were informed about the incident after the resident of the house returned home at around 10:30 pm and saw someone inside.
The Madison Police Department told Fox News Digital that the victim “was startled to see all the lights, as he had been walking all day.”

“The police came and looked through the windows of the woman walking around the house,” said the department’s statement. “A female, later identified as Joanna K. Lee, came to the door in response to instructions given by police.”
Authorities say Lee calmly “advised” police that he was allowed to be home and even referred to his roommate by name.
“Lee gave a detailed account of how he met the resident at the coffee shop earlier and was given the keys to the house,” police said. “Lee was in the house long enough to cook himself a shrimp and pasta dinner.

“The resident, however, insisted that he had never met Lee and that Lee had no permission to be in his home eating his food.”
Authorities later determined that the suspect stopped by the resident’s post office to learn his name and invent a story. He was immediately arrested and booked into the Dane County Jail.
