Vedanta Aluminum complies with the government’s BIS certification order for wire rods and rolled products

Vedanta Aluminum on Friday announced that it has received BIS certification for wire and rolled products. This certificate applies to products manufactured at the BALCO facility in Chhattisgarh and the Jharsuguda unit in Odisha.
Last year, India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, along with the Ministry of Mines, introduced a new quality control system for aluminum and aluminum alloys.
Vedanta Aluminum holds BIS certification for a wide range of aluminum products, including 12 mm wire rods, rolled sheets, rolled conductor plates, rolled plates, alloy ingots and primary ingots, all catering to various engineering and industrial purposes.
“The BIS approval of Vedanta Aluminum’s steel and rolled products is a testament to our commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance,” said Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sunil Gupta.
Vedanta Aluminum, a Vedanta Limited entity, is a leading aluminum producer that produced 2.37 million tonnes of aluminum in FY24.
