Justice Sonia Sotomayor should be replaced by Kamala Harris, says a CNN analyst

CNN’s Bakari Sellers floated the idea of President Biden replacing Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor with Vice President Kamala Harris before President-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office.
“CNN News Central” host John Berman asked Sellers about concerns among Democrats about Trump and the majority of Senate Republicans who might replace Sotomayor, the third-oldest member of the Supreme Court.
Sellers argued that Sotomayor should step down so that Biden and the current Democratic majority can reinstate her months before Trump’s inauguration to ensure another liberal justice on the court.

HARRIS ARROGATE COMMITS TO TRUMP’S ‘EPIC DISASTER’ ELECTION NIGHT LOSS
“You know, Justice Sotomayor was fair. I know she may have had her own issues that she dealt with while on the bench. But, you know, I don’t want Justice Sotomayor to be another Ruth. Bader Ginsburg in terms of longevity,” Sellers said. “And so I hope Joe Biden makes the next ten weeks as straight as possible. I don’t care about drawing outside the lines or what the Republicans think about it. This is within you. You can do it too. And you know, the other thing, John, is that you’ve got a hell of a vice president right where you have the legitimate pedigree to stay. on the Supreme Court And let the Republicans go crazy, monkey, for even mentioning that option.”
Berman seemed taken aback by this proposal and asked to clarify whether Sellers is fulfilling the idea of Harris becoming a Supreme Court judge.

“I don’t just float but I want to stir everything up. I want people’s heads to explode in the morning. So we go into the weekend knowing that the chaos is not over yet,” said Sellers.
Sellers reiterated his opinion in the X post on Sunday.

“Some bold ideas, Sotomayor needs to resign. The court is currently 6-3. This will reduce Trumps power to make it 7-2. It is foolish to believe there is no difference. You can confirm in 10 weeks (see ACB). You have excellent candidates previously tested… ,” the sellers wrote.
Although Democrats are reportedly considering calls for Sotomayor to step down, the 70-year-old justice has not indicated that she plans to retire anytime soon. Other senior justices such as Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas have also never suggested they are ready to retire.
