“Today, Donald Trump has also proved that he is not a maternity friend – both sides.

Let’s be clear: These taxes don’t care, they are unblemished, and hurt both Canadians and the United States. This is not about proper trade; It’s about public sending politics for repayment of efficient activities.

Without a decisive verb and a quick decision, the results can be difficult. More than 2.4 million works of Canada depends directly and indirectly in trading with the United States. In 2024, about 1,8 million people worked in the fields where at least 35% of the work in Canada depended outside Canada. This decision threatens hundreds of thousands of these jobs as a result.

Every day, $ 3.6 billion to the goods crossing the Canadian-US border, up to $ 1.3 trillion every year. This trading collateral supports 1.4 million American jobs and Canadian activities. These cells do not simply harm Canada – threaten industrial stimulations on both sides of the border.

Canada cannot stand by idly. We expect our governments to take a speedy and powerful action, so that the Canada is not carrying the cost of this commercial fighting. The Canadian government should do everything in the power to provide support for services and staff, including revenue support, employment insurance access to help families to cope with economic food.

This is not a partner of the partition. Employees and their families need to see all levels of government – regardless of political strategy – meet with a clear and united strategy to find Canadian activities and industries. Our answer should be in the case of this problem, with a quick verb to protect employees trading policies. Now is the time of leadership, not partition.

Without temporary responses, Canada must take important steps to reduce its dependence on our trade by strengthening its production industry. This means accepting the expected industrial strategy, Canada industrialization, making sure public infrastructure projects use Canadian steel, and other materials, investing in the home curtains.

We’ve passed this before, and we can fight back. USW will stand on the shoulder and employees, press the governments to take action and ensure that no person is left behind.
