Trump congratulates Johnson who won the speaker’s vote: ‘America is back’

FIRST ON FOX: President-elect Trump reacted to the renomination of Mike Johnson as speaker of the House, telling Fox News Digital that the process brought House Republicans “closer together,” and said it was a continuation of “Make America Great Again.”

Johnson was reappointed speaker of the House on Friday.

Sources told Fox News Digital that the president-elect is “in constant contact” with House Republicans throughout the process. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Trump said it was “a great honor to help.”

“It’s all a good continuation of ‘Make America Great Again,'” Trump said.

“Mike Johnson will do a great job as speaker,” Trump said. “The House Republican membership was fun.”

“This program has brought them closer together,” he said. “All of this is a sign of the big presidential election in 2024 where we won all seven states, the popular vote and everything else we have to win.”

“All of us will be working together for the complete benefit of the people of our nation,” he said. “Our country will be managed again with strength and common sense.”
