TikTok CEO praises Trump after Supreme Court upholds ban

These are uncertain times for TikTok – and things don’t seem to be getting any worse. Faced with the Supreme Court’s lost decision and the impending ban, TikTok CEO Shou Chew issued a statement praising President-elect Donald Trump for a more concerted effort to try to influence the incoming president.

The US Supreme Court issued its decision upholding the ban on Friday. With reports that outgoing President Joe Biden will not implement the ban, that leaves the decision entirely in the normal-sized hands of Trump. Chew released a response to the decision on TikTok’s channels on Friday. It was all a personal request to the incoming president.

“I want to thank President Trump for his commitment to working with us to find a solution that keeps TikTok available in the United States,” he said.

Chew added: “We are grateful and happy to have the support of a president who truly understands our platform – who has used TikTok to express his thoughts and ideas, connect with the world and generate more than 60 billion views on his content. process.”

Trump loves to be humiliated, so maybe that’s a winning strategy from Chew. In fact, Chew is reportedly planning to attend Trump’s inauguration on Monday. You are far from the only technology executive to attend. Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk’s X are all said to be planning an appearance.
