“Different Russia” by Marvin Kalb
Kennedy proved to be the last chance of Khrushchev that sounded reasonable for the Soviet-American relationship. They met one conference in Vienna in June 1961. Two days after the Austrian capital, Gloom replaced their previous prospect. The allegations deepened, as both leaders stumbled were dangerous errors with Berlin and Cuba.
