Santander to close 100 branches, putting 750 jobs at risk

Santander announced 95 branches throughout the UK, putting 750 jobs at risk as a bank continues to reduce its body’s existence due to changing customer practices.

The latest cycle of closure will see the Santander’s Granch Network Shrink from 444 to 290 full-time branches, alongside five restaurants designed to provide bank services. The Bank will introduce new unlicensed areas and the opening hours reduced in the selected branches.

Santander says the decision shows the growing digital Bank, with an online transaction that exceeds 63% from 2019, and 61% branch transactions in the same period.

Despite travel, the bank insists that 93% of the UK Statent will still be under 10 miles of Santander. Customers are taught closing will have different options, including public banks visiting local places, High Banking Banks, and Personal Services at the post office.

Santander UK spokesman said: “Our new combination of full-time branches, labor holder, branches that do not exist, and the reduced branches, and areas aimed at providing fit between the digital Bank and face formation.

“Closing the branch is always the most difficult, and we look for a careful impact on customers and staff before doing so.”

With closure, Sanver puts billions in improving its left branches, 99 places are already updated two years ago and the other 50 will add digital-based rooms and easy access to bank services.

Sather and improve its mobile boanking app, chat service, and the call bank to ensure that customers can access the resources remotely.

Closure comes like a new hit in-Person Banking, with problems that increase in bank services – especially older and vulnerable customers.

Santander maintenance has included 750 jobs at risk, affected by receptive workers or can be present within the company.

In response to Shift, Santander has developed its work in Café Concept, giving free vacancies with a Superfast Wife and events to support local businesses. Two new places have just been opened, and one set will be announced soon.
