A fire that threatened homes in the northern suburbs of San Diego was quickly extinguished thanks to the “quick response of aircraft,” the city’s fire department said on January 22.
The fire, called the Center Fire, started early in the morning in the Rancho Bernardo area, local news reports said, with evacuation orders and warnings following. These were raised at 3:15 pm.
“Homes were threatened and there were initial evacuation orders, but support from nearby organizations and partners ensured that no structures were damaged,” the fire department said.
