Psaki admits Dems are making a mistake by trying to reach out to Trump voters and ignore Democrats

MSNBC anchor Jen Psaki acknowledged that the Democratic Party is too reliant on “Trump” Republicans and should have made a greater effort to reach voters who left the Democratic Party, after Democrats lost the White House and Senate in Tuesday’s election. .

The former White House Press Secretary appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday to offer an analysis of “all the things the party got wrong” about voters and their priorities in this election.

Psaki first said that the Democrats made a big mistake about how important the issue of abortion is to the millions of Americans in the country who ended up voting for Trump. He also urged his party to “reflect” on the fact that many traditionally Democratic voters did not support Vice President Kamala Harris.

“There’s sexism, there’s racism, that’s all true, but I also think there’s a real question, I hope people are starting to look at, who people are listening to. In my opinion, there was an over-listening, and an over-elevation of people who left Trump, not people who left the Democratic Party, said Psaki.

He also suggested that Democrats may be scaring voters with their harsh rhetoric that Trump is “a threat to democracy” in their closing message.

“The last thing I’m going to say, because I’ve been thinking about this a lot, is part of that piece, the one you’re listening to, and this argument – you just touched on this, Mika – about fascism. . Fascism and the threat to democracy is a big problem in this country that journalists should be talking about. People don’t agree with it. Harris also underperformed among women and black voters, compared to Biden. He won the women’s vote by 8 points, while Biden won these voters by 12 points in 2020. Overall, 88% of black voters chose Harris, down from 94% for Biden.
