Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has postponed the premiere of her new Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” due to the California wildfires, the streaming service said in a statement Sunday.
“With Love, Meghan,” is hosted and produced by Meghan, who cooks, gardens and hosts various guest spots “with a heartfelt thanks to the beauty of Southern California.” The show was supposed to start airing on Wednesday.
According to Netflix, Meghan requested that the show’s release be pushed back to March 4 due to “the ongoing damage caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles.”
“I’m so grateful to our partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those affected by the wildfires in our home state of California,” Meghan said in a statement.
The fire that broke out on Tuesday, killed at least 16 people, displaced thousands of residents and destroyed the entire area.
On Friday, Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, met with survivors and emergency medical workers in Pasadena, where the deadly Eaton fire has been burning in the mountains north of the city, burning more than 13,000 hectares.
The couple moved to California in 2020 and settled in Montecito, about 90 minutes by car north of Los Angeles.
All eight episodes of “With Love, Meghan” were filmed in Montecito, according to Netflix, and feature Meghan hosting, cooking and chatting with a variety of famous friends, including Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters, Roy Choi and her “Suits” co-star. Abigail Spencer.
