Matthew Livelsberger did not show ‘regarding conduct’ before the leave request

The driver who detonated a Tesla Cybertruck in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year’s Day did not show “behavior” when he was given leave from his station in Germany, a US Army spokesman said.
“Master Sgt. Matthew Livelsberger was able to access and use the POTFF [Preservation of the Force and Family] the system; he showed no evidence of misconduct at the time, and was placed on personal leave,” said Brig. The latest undisclosed information about the 37-year-old Army Green Beret’s “behavior” comes after the FBI and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) revealed that Livelsberger may have suffered from PTSD.

At a press conference Friday afternoon, LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill spoke about Livelsberger’s struggle with PTSD and his possible motive for the New Year’s attack.
“While this incident is more public and sensational than usual, it ultimately appears to be a tragic suicide involving a highly decorated military veteran struggling with PTSD and other issues,” McMahill said.

“I’m sure, this is the reason why we started our health office here at Metro and take care of the heart, mind, body and soul of the people who do this work, because they face things, they see things, hear things, feel things and smell things that many ordinary people don’t have to do, ” said McMahill.
“And the heroes who serve in the military and the best in America’s police force are challenged in that way,” he said. “And, therefore, I think we should really pay attention to those people, pay attention to what mental health In America it seems.”
Police officials on Friday also released parts of Livelsberger’s “manifesto.”
“This was not a terrorist attack, it was a wake-up call,” Livelsberger wrote, according to truncated notes shared by Las Vegas police. “Americans only pay attention to spectacles and violence. What better way to make my point than to shoot fireworks and firecrackers?
“Why did I do it myself now? I needed to clear my mind of the brothers I lost and free myself from the burden of the life I took,” he wrote.
“We are the United States of America, the best country people have ever lived in! But right now we are dying and headed for collapse.”
LVMPD Sheriff’s Assistant Dori Koren said Livelsberger died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He mentioned that the suspect put the gun in his mouth and took it out.

“We also know, as the policeman said yesterday, that the suspect had a self-inflicted wound,” said Koren. “The investigator revealed that it was clearly a gunshot wound, which means that the suspect put the gun in his mouth and took out the gun.
