Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Reborn | Official Trailer | Disney +

I am not the “Kraven” of retrospect. This film was the final nail in the coffin of what was once the Sony Spider-Man Universe.

The structure

Kraven’s complicated relationship with his cruel father paves the way for revenge, inspiring him to become not only the world’s greatest hunter, but also one of their most feared..

Update

Aaron Taylor-Johnson does not disappoint in the title role in Kraven the Hunter and delivers an excellent performance as Kraven. We get to see the appearances of Russell Crowe and Fred Hechinger as Nikolai Kravinoff and Dmitri Kravinoff respectively and together they deliver great performances as the evil Kravinoff family. Alessandro Nivola plays Aleksei Sytsevich and it was great to see a different take on the Rhino persona.

Aaron portrays the character well and the R rating is definitely worth the film. Some scenes are intense. I would really like to see Kraven feature in the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe fighting Spider-Man or even challenging the popularity of the Punisher.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kraven the Hunter (Sony Pictures)

I rate Kraven the Hunter a 2 out of 5. Although there are many action scenes in the movie, it remains a Marvel movie and therefore there are many factors that are taken into consideration when the production is released. Kraven is yet another super villain in the Marvel universe, given the rivalry Kraven had with Spider-Man. There is no golden thread in the larger Sony Spider-Man Universe. It makes it sound like another random independent film in the universe asking the question “Did we really need Kraven the Hunter?”. Also, although Kraven the Hunter is part and parcel of the Sony Spider-Man Universe, there is no actual appearance or even reference to Spider-Man, which is really disappointing. While we are blessed with various cameos in this movie, we don’t see the main characters and without a real link between the other entries in the Sony Spider-Man Universe the golden thread is broken. The main villain in the story, Rhino was treated differently in terms of plot compared to previous Spider-Man entries such as The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but as the main villain, Rhino disappeared very quickly in the movie. Finally, there is no post-credits scene at the end, so there is no need to wait until the end. This gives the message that there may not be any future products in the Sony Spider-Man Universe. Could the Sony Spider-Man Universe die this time? Have we reached the end of Sony’s Marvel Universe?

Here is the trailer for Kraven the Hunter (Marvel Entertainment). Find out at a cinema near you. The movie is available on IMAX in selected cinemas in Cape Town, South Africa.
