Martha Stewart admits she had an affair during marriage but ex ‘never knew about it’

Martha Stewart is getting real.
The biographer admitted in the trailer for her new Netflix documentary “Martha” that she had an affair during her decades-long marriage to her only husband, Andrew Stewart.
“Girls, take my advice, if you’re married and your husband starts cheating on you, you’re a piece of s—,” said an 83-year-old man in a car. “Get out of that marriage.”
“Didn’t you sleep early?” the producer is heard talking to a home and garden maven.

“Yeah, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that,” Stewart replied.
The new documentary covers Stewart’s marriage, his rise in the lifestyle industry and his legal woes.
“What does it mean to be the first female billionaire in history?” Stewart wonders in response at the beginning of the trailer before laughing.
He added in the trailer that he was “considered crazy” as his work came together, “but it worked.”

“I have a strong hand, and I want, and all the good things that make a successful person,” he added.
Someone in the trailer said that while those qualities are good for a businessman, Stewart is labeled a “b—-.”

“All of that inspired me a lot,” admitted Stewart of being called a b—-.
“I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.”
Stewart, a former model, worked as a stockbroker and then started a catering business in the 1970s that led to her first cookbook, “Entertaining,” in 1982. More cookbooks followed, and she began making television appearances.

Her magazine, Martha Stewart Living, published its first issue in the winter of 1990.
But during his most successful run in 2004, he was indicted and convicted of many crimes, including conspiracy, securities fraud and obstruction of justice. He served five months in a federal security prison.
“I was the cup of these idiots,” Stewart said in the documentary. “I was dragged alone. There was no food or water. Those prosecutors should have been put in a Cuisinart and lit up.”

He said that after getting out of prison, he had to “get out of the hole” professionally, but through the 80’s, the lifestyle icon remained relevant, from his friendship with Snoop Dogg to the dry traps on social media. to the continued success of his brand.

After the producer told him, “Tell me,” Stewart replied, “I don’t know.”
“A cookie-cutter house and a cookie-cutter life were not for me,” he said in the carriage. “I could have been miserable, I’ve been a stay-at-home mom, but I didn’t let that happen to me, and I’m so glad I didn’t.”

The former couple married in 1961 and divorced in 1990. Their only daughter, Alexis, 59, followed in her mother’s footsteps as a radio and TV presenter, carrying her mother’s name.

Stewart admitted that the divorce was difficult for her, in a 2020 interview with People magazine.
“Divorce was a bad thing for me, because we were starting to separate from my family,” she said. “And the fact that we haven’t talked about it since the divorce hurts even more. But I’m very strong, and I’m very determined to get on with life.”
“Martha” is available to stream on Netflix on Oct. 30.
