His roommate was arrested after a Riverside man was found buried in the backyard

A Riverside man was arrested after his roommate’s body was found buried in a makeshift grave in the backyard, police said.
Police responded Tuesday night to the 8700 block of Sylvan Drive after receiving reports that Bradley Minder, 31, had not been seen or heard from for several days, the Riverside Police Department said in a statement.
When the police investigated, they found out that one of the occupants had just made statements, saying that he had killed his roommate, the police said.
Detectives searched the home and saw what appeared to be a crime scene in the backyard.
Investigators from the department’s homicide investigation unit, as well as intelligence experts and sniffer dogs, were called to search the area.
The dogs alerted police to a backyard where searchers found human remains, police said. The deceased was identified as Minder.
Detectives later arrested and booked his roommate Richard Thomas Martinez, 48, on suspicion of murder.
Detectives say they believe the two men had an argument that led to Martinez killing Minder. Police did not release additional details about what sparked the argument between the two men, or how Minder was killed.
