Here’s where first responders can get free food in California

As the Los Angeles area continues to grapple with wildfires, here are some restaurants — both local and national chains — that are offering free meals to firefighters and other first responders.
Be sure to check each restaurant as these offers may vary from location to location.
All promotions were available at the time of writing.
CALIFORNIA FIRES AND MENTAL HEALTH: FAMOUS LOCALS OFFER TIPS
Blaze Pizza
Nine Blaze Pizza locations in southern California are offering first responders a free 11″ pizza (plain or single topping) on Sunday, Jan. 12, the chain said in an Instagram post on Jan. 10.
“We hope everyone is safe,” Blaze Pizza said.

Fat Sal’s Deli
The California-based sandwich shop is offering free meals to first responders at multiple locations, the restaurant said in an Instagram post on January 9.
“To our incredibly brave first responders – if you get a moment, enjoy a free meal at our locations in Hollywood, Westwood, Encino, Venice and Culver City,” the post said.
In-N-Out Burger
Select areas in southern California offer free meals to firefighters. Additionally, the company has stationed its “cooking trucks” at restaurants near the fires.

“It’s been an honor to provide comfort food to firefighters with our food trucks and our locations near the hardest hit areas,” In-N-Out said on their Instagram page.
KFC
KFC is offering free KFC bowls to those on a first-come, first-served basis, including law enforcement, emergency responders, firefighters, and “active military members (with their original ID),” the release said. company on Friday, Jan. 10.

Free dishes are available until Monday, Jan. 20 participating restaurants in the region. A list of participating restaurants is available on the KFC website.
Norm’s
A southern California diner chain is offering firefighters and police officers free entry through Jan. 12 at 11 p.m., says their website.
This offer is not valid in its Las Vegas location.

Shake the shack
First responders can get a free Shackburger at any Shake Shack location in Los Angeles County through Sunday, January 12, the company posted on X on Jan. 8.

The burgers are “a little thank you for everything you do,” the post said.
Sizzler
Sizzler locations in Van Nuys, Los Feliz, Palmdale and Culver City, California are offering free meals to firefighters and evacuees.

“Please come and get a warm meal,” Sizzler said Thursday afternoon on Facebook and X. “Just let the person who takes our money know that he has come to feed the fire,” said the postman.
Meal options include a six-ounce steak, six jumbo crispy shrimp, or a Malibu chicken platter, along with a side and fountain drink.
