UKPM says ‘sausages’ instead of hostages during the speech

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, made a mistake when he spoke at his party’s conference on Tuesday when he mistakenly called for the return of “sausages,” instead of hostages, held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Starmer was speaking at the Labor Party’s annual conference in Liverpool when he called for a détente between Lebanon and Israel, as well as an end to the conflict in Gaza.
He also appealed for the return of the hostages held by the terrorist group when he slipped, before his speedy recovery.
“I am also asking for a ceasefire in Gaza, the return of the sausages – the hostages – and a re-commitment to the two-state solution: a recognized Palestinian state alongside a safe and secure Israel,” he said.

The mistake went quickly.
While commenting, Starmer was also confused by a viewer who was crying about Gaza.
“This guy obviously got a pass at the 2019 conference. We changed teams,” Starmer joked in response, Reuters reported. “When he protested, we changed the party. That’s why we have a Labor government.”

Dozens of hostages are still being held in Gaza nearly a year after the group attacked Israeli communities on October 7, sparking the latest conflict between Hamas and the Jewish state.
Israel has proposed an end to the war if Hamas releases the remaining hostages, as well as the dissolution of Gaza and the establishment of another governing body. Hamas has rejected several promises to end the conflict.
Israel attacked Gaza and vowed to hunt down those responsible for the deadly attack. Meanwhile, it has had to defend itself a second time against shelling to its north from Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.
