Sarco’s suicide pod has strong advocates in The Last Resort, a death row group that demonstrated the device in Zurich over the summer. The organization maintains that it sees no obstacles under current Swiss law for the company’s pod and has promoted its use.
It is known that the former president of The Last Resort, Florian Willet, is the only person who attended the suicide of this unnamed woman. The activist says the woman died in a “peaceful, quick, and dignified way,” which happened “in the open air under a canopy of trees.”
Another option for Sarco suicide pod owners is to choose between a fully enclosed one or one with a lighted window to die overlooking their chosen location.
