The former NASCAR driver at the center of ‘Let’s Go Brandon!’ The chant hopes the phrase ends after Election Day

The famous “Let’s go Brandon!” The song, which turned into an anti-President Biden jab, was born when Brandon Brown won the first NASCAR Xfinity Series race of his career at Talladega.
The crowd chanted “F— Joe Biden,” but an NBC Sports reporter at the time told Brown they were yelling “Let’s go Brandon!” In 2021, a political slogan was coined by former President Donald Trump’s supporters to shoot at Biden.

Brown posted on social media Tuesday that he hopes Election Day 2024 will end the slogan.
“So I think after today the talk dies and you can support me again, thank you!!!” Brown wrote in X.
It was Brown’s first post since writing about the death of Matthew Perry on Oct. 28, 2023.

The victory at Talladega marked the end of his career. He has not competed in the Xfinity Series since 2022.
Brown told The Associated Press in October 2021 that the publicity ultimately hurt his race team. The family team struggled to find funding, and his colleagues did not market the driver since the slogan became a controversial topic in the president’s politics.
