Donald Trump Defeats Kamala Harris in 2024 Presidential Election

Trump, who was indicted on 34 counts in May and has embraced climate change because it will create high seas, has run a nativist campaign built on promises to deport millions of illegal immigrants and impose tariffs on imports, many economists say. it can cause depression. The 78-year-old billionaire also vowed to roll back environmental policies and protections, severely curtail transgender rights, and seek revenge on his political enemies.
In the final days of the campaign, pro-Trump representatives and lobbyists, like Musk, pressured more men to vote for Trump. For months, Trump and his vice president, JD Vance, appeared on several podcasts aimed at young people. Trump sat down with Kickstarter Adin Ross for a live video at Mar-a-Lago this summer, joined wrestler and vlogger Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, and brought in a host of influencers, such as the Nelk Boys, on the campaign trail.
After the assassination attempt on Trump in July in Butler, Pennsylvania, Musk officially endorsed Trump. “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for a speedy recovery,” Musk posted on X at the time.
Musk then donated more than $100 million to support Trump’s re-election and turned his platform X into a megaphone for the former president. Musk’s America PAC, along with Turning Point Action, has led Trump’s campaign efforts in states like Michigan, Arizona, and Wisconsin. Some of these activists were denied pay and forced into unsafe working conditions, such as being transported in the back of a U-Haul without seat belts, WIRED reported.
Some activists have offered support for Trump. On Thursday, promoter and boxer Jake Paul officially endorsed Trump in a video posted to X. On Monday, Joe Rogan followed suit in a post sharing his latest podcast episode with Musk. Paul has over 20 million YouTube subscribers and Rogan hosts the most popular podcast in the US with over 14 million followers on Spotify.
“They have humiliated and disrespected our wonderful men for far too long,” said Ashley St. Clair at X’s post on Monday. “Men must VOTE!”
Prior to the election, polls suggested a deep swing toward Harris among older women and independents, seemingly driven by the Supreme Court overturning federal abortion rights and a wave of unpopular restrictions supported by Republicans at the state level. In the end, however, Trump’s strategy of turning on voters in economically struggling, industrially inactive areas while sidelining heavily Democratic polling stations carried the day.
Republicans will take back the Senate, making it much easier for the incoming Trump administration to confirm judges and cabinet officials. The balance of power in the House of Representatives is yet to be decided.
