Leah Feiger: The win was a tough decision, almost shockingly so. Many of us still get the big thing that pushed the country hard to the right. Here at WIRED, however, we have an idea, and we’ve been reporting on him for a while: Elon Musk.

Leah Feiger: This DOES work Politics Laba show about how technology is changing politics. I’m Leah Feiger, senior political editor at WIRED. As we discussed on the show a few weeks ago, Elon jumped into the political debate this cycle in a big way, endorsing Trump, joining him at rallies, and putting a lot of money behind him, over 100 million dollars. Has his influence made a difference to Trump, and what happens now? Joining me today to talk about all this and more is WIRED’s director of science, politics, and security, Tim Marchman. Hello, Tim.
Tim Marchman: Hello, I’m glad to be here.
Leah Feiger: I’m glad you’re here too. Also joining us, is WIRED senior reporter Vittoria Elliott. Hey, Tori.
Vittoria Elliott: Hello, Leah.
Leah Feiger: Hurry in guys. How are you two?
Vittoria Elliott: I don’t know what day it is.
Tim Marchman: I need to just go to the park and read a Victorian novel, or play shuffleboard or something.
Vittoria Elliott: That sounds good. Honestly, I wish someone would give me some beach time, like they used to.
Leah Feiger: Instead of beach time and instead of reading a Victorian novel in the park, we should be talking about Elon Musk. OK? That also sounds incredibly sweet to me.
Tim Marchman: I think we will be talking about Elon Musk for the next four years. I, for one, can’t wait.
Leah Feiger: Let’s get into it. So, the big question for me, and I think for almost all of us, is Elon Musk making this happen? Are you responsible, or at least responsible, very responsible, very responsible for this Trump victory? WHAT DO YOU THINK?
