Derek Hough Teases Past DWTS Blowouts With Carrie Ann and Bruno

Derek Hough enters the fun of previous scenes from Dancing with the Stars going viral.

In a video shared via Instagram on Monday, November 25, Hough, 39, also posted a confessional clip with her season 6 co-star. Shannon Elizabeth since 2008. (The show no longer has experts and colleagues record confessional reactions.)

“They are coming to our hip? What about the heel prints going on over there?” Hough said as Elizabeth stared at the tissue in her eye. “What about the heel prints, the feet sticking out of the ground, the horrible lines of demented people they make over there? And he gives them 9’s and 10’s. Are you kidding me?” The caption on the video reads, “Derek is mad at the judges.”

While recreating the video of the clip in the present day, Hough voiced her grievances to the judges Bruno Tonioli – who looked shocked with anger – again Carrie Ann Inaba.

“After 15 years, I was finally able to say what I really feel… to their faces! 😂😂. Let’s just say, the early days of @dancingwiththestars came with more funny drama 🎭 and more intensity 🔥 than now,” Hough captioned the upload. “No one knows more about disagreements with judges than Baby Derek. 😂.”

Hough quickly got laughs from past and present DWTS experts in the comment section of his post.

“Broken lines 🤣🤣🤣🤣,” Emma Slater he wrote, while Maksim Chmerkovskiy he added, “lol.” Hough’s sister, Juliannereplied, “Oooooooh baby Derek hahhaa 😂,” and his wife, Hayley Erbert Houghentered, “Watching him get angry looking like a 12 year old boy is really fun 😂😂♥️.”

One season after Hough’s breakout season, he took home the Mirrorball Trophy with his season 7 teammate Brooke Burke. Hough went on to win the coveted competition in season 10 with Nicole Scherzingerseason 11 with Jennifer Grayseason 16 with Kellie Picklerseason 17 with Amber Rileyseason 21 with Bindi Irwin.

After his successful run as a professional DWTSHough joined the jury in 2020 to fill Len Goodman. Hough has remained in his position alongside Tonioli, 69, and Inaba, 56.

After the first 33 seasons DWTSpro Gleb Savchenko drew a comparison between Hough and the late Goodman during a private conversation with him Us Weekly – but Hough doesn’t see it. (Goodman died in April 2023, less than a year after leaving the role DWTS.)

“I wish I was as good as Len,” Hough said to himself Us in September. “[He’s] it is completely irreplaceable. … His sentences and his ‘Lenisms’ were just iconic.”

Hough explained that he tries to follow in Goodman’s footsteps and “talk a little bit about the details,” but noted that it can be a challenge given the time constraints while talking to each couple.

“It is always difficult, especially in the first few weeks, because there is little time to say something,” he said. “I feel like I’m rushing it trying to put it in.”
