CES 2025: How to buy (and save $390) the Dreme X50 Ultra robot vacuum

PRE-ORDER AND SAVE $390: Before its launch on Feb. 14, the Dreme X50 Ultra robotic shutter announced at CES is now available for pre-order. Doing so early also unlocks a $390 coupon, making it yours for $1,309.99 compared to the introductory price of $1,699.99.

If you read “climbing robot vacuum” about the Dreme X50 Ultra and thought it was the first robot vacuum that can climb straight up the stairs, you’ve been wrong. But this doesn’t mean that the Dreme X50 Ultra won’t be one of the best value robot vacuums to come out at CES 2025.

Dreame has packed a number of enhancements into the X50 Ultra that will make it one of the best performing robotics on the market, especially in its price range. Its starting price of $1,699.99 … is correct – the window between $1,399.99 and $1,799.99 is a good practice for releasing a flagship robot from any major brand today.

How to buy Dreme X50 Ultra

However, the Dreme X50 Ultra gets real bang for your buck when you take advantage of its amazing previous deal: Shopping on Dreame’s website before its official release on Valentine’s Day unlocks a $390 coupon, making the X50 Ultra just $1,309.99. A three-year warranty and an additional two years free are included in the early bird special.

You’ll only have to put down $39 to claim yours, rather than coughing up the full amount up front.

The speed of this timeline is especially impressive considering that April is the first time you’ll be able to get your hands on Roborock’s biggest CES announcement, the Saros Z70.

Is the Dreme X50 Ultra worth it if it can’t climb stairs?

I will give a firm answer to this question after testing the X50 Ultra in my house, but in theory, yes.

Although its borderline rating was a bust (only due to WiFi issues!) during the live demo at CES, the X50 Ultra’s lift wheels are still very efficient (if they work). Dreame’s ProLeap system lifts the robot vacuum completely off the floor at an angle, not just a lift that might be needed to get through a thick carpet or something. The X50 Ultra is said to be able to measure thresholds up to 2.36 inches, including two layers (like sliding doors). This capacity can also be useful in homes with child safety or a pet gate at the entrance.

I’ve personally experienced the benefits of a hydraulic robot vacuum like this one with the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro 2-in-1. It uses the same legs to raise itself higher than the carpet than other robot vacuums. So I picture that, but even more flexible with the Dreme X50 Ultra – and even more powerful cleaning.

I think the X50 Ultra’s 20,000 Pa of suction power should be more advertised as a step up. That’s more powerful than any of Roborock’s powerful 2024 models, including the $1,599.99 ($1,299.99 on sale) Qrevo Curv. And just 2,000 Pa less powerful than the Roborock Saros Z70 also announced at CES, which will cost around $2,000. That strong suction should be fine with pet hair thanks to the duo-roller design underneath – two brushes rotating in opposite directions are often better at digging and pinching hair than a single roller.

Careful mapping is one of the Z70’s strong points. I think it can be added to the list of hybrid robots that can scrub corners, thanks to the spinning pad that extends beyond the width of the vac to scrub walls or corners. (The Roborock Qrevo Master was my favorite cleaning robot and mop combo since 2024 because of its ability to wipe up drips and splatters from the edges of my kitchen floor.)

Of course, the Dreme X50 Ultra also has a smart map that can clean certain rooms or areas on command, as well as avoiding small obstacles that keep it from absorbing things like ropes or socks. After cleaning, it empties its own bin and washes the mopping pads itself – typical of premium hybrids.

Sold? Go ahead and pre-order the Dreme X50 Ultra on March 2nd for $1,309.99.
