Catherine, Princess of Wales, says her cancer is gone

Catherine, Princess of Wales, said she was relieved to be in remission on Tuesday after visiting the London hospital where she was treated for cancer, thanking all the doctors and staff there.

Catherine, 43, underwent preventive chemotherapy after major abdominal surgery last year revealed the presence of an unspecified type of cancer. In September, he confirmed that he had completed chemotherapy.

“It’s a relief now that I’m in remission and focused on recovery,” he said in his latest statement.

“As anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer will know, it takes time to adjust to a new situation. I’m looking forward to next year. There’s a lot to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”

His visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in central London, where he was treated for months, was his first public engagement since returning to work.

He met with patients and staff and talked about the care he received. The trip also marked the announcement that she is now a joint patron of a specialist cancer unit with her husband, the heir to the throne, Prince William.

He told the patient that the impact on his family was “really hard.”

“I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Royal Marsden for looking after me well over the past year,” he said in his message to X.
