Bill Clinton Blames Hillary’s Defeat as President, Explains Her Relationship with Jeffrey Epstein

Former president Bill Clinton blames Russia for his wife Hillary Clinton’s defeat in the 2016 presidential election.

In “Citizen: My Life After the White House” (Knopf), Clinton talks about what she has been doing since 2000. One quoted passage acknowledges his anger at what happened in 2016, when presumptive favorite Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election to Donald Trump.

The former president says he “couldn’t sleep for two years” and suffered “fury” as a result of the results, which created a situation he “didn’t deserve to be in.”

“All of this is hard for me to write,” Clinton wrote. “I’m sorry to all those who endured my anger, which lasted for years and worried or bored people who thought it was useless to fix things that could not be changed,” said the 42nd president.

Clinton blames several factors for his wife’s defeat, including the email investigation of former FBI Director James Comey, a hostile media, and Russia’s influence, particularly on social media.

“Nearly two years after the election, Kathleen Hall Jamieson, a well-respected social scientist, said that the Russian cyber attacks that piled on Comey’s intervention were effective enough to persuade voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin to vote third-party or stay home,” he wrote.

“If so, Putin’s power was Comey and the political media.”

Clinton also spoke about her relationship with financier Jeffrey Epstein, a former partner who allowed the former president to fly on his controversial “Lolita Express” plane. Clinton admits she boarded, but never visited Epstein Island, where the alleged child molestation took place.

“The bottom line is that, although it allowed me to visit my foundation’s work, Epstein’s flight was not worth investigating years later. I wish I had never met him,” lamented the former president.

“I always thought Epstein was strange but knew nothing about the crimes he committed,” he wrote. “He tortured many people but I didn’t know anything, when he was arrested for the first time in 2005 I stopped contacting him. I have never visited his island.”
