According to Zee Business research, Bharti Airtel is estimated to register a consolidated profit of Rs 4,620 crore in the July-September period, which means a quarter-on-quarter increase of 11.1 percent.

Analysts expect the telecom company’s second quarter revenue to be Rs 41,150 crore compared to Rs 38,506 crore in the previous three months.

Bharti Airtel is expected to register Rs 22,000 crore in quarterly earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), up 11.6 percent sequentially, according to the survey.

Zee Business analysts peg Bharti Airtel’s September quarter at 53.5 percent, above the average of 51.2 percent in the first fiscal quarter. This marks an improvement of 230 basis points (bps) sequentially.

Zee Business analysts expect Bharti Airtel to grow up to 11 percent in its Indian wireless business sequentially driven by higher revenue per user (ARPU) given the corporate tax hike.

They estimate the telecom company’s ARPU—a key measure of revenue for telecom operators—to improve to Rs 232 from Rs 211 in the June quarter.

Analysts estimate its African business to register growth of around one percent sequentially.

According to Zee Business research, Bharti Airtel is expected to register a total of 25 lakh wireless users during the second quarter of the financial year.

On Monday, shares of Bharti Airtel rose as much as Rs 13, or 0.8 percent, to Rs 1,677.4 apiece during morning deals on the BSE.

At current levels, Bharti Airtel stock has rewarded investors with an 80 percent return over the past year, far outstripping the 45 percent gain in the S&P BSE Telecom index.

The headline index Nifty50 has grown by 27.5 percent during this period.
