Awesome Games Done Quick raises another $2.5 million for the cancer nonprofit

The week-long Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 race wrapped up in the early hours of Sunday, and organizers say it managed to pull in a total of $2,556,305 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

As expected, the event in Pittsburgh brought a good mix of talent and silliness: there was Crazy Taxi a speedrun with a live band; FunkopotamusWes played the piano while running Super Mario Bros. The new Wiiusing head and feet to control the game with motion controls; and Dr. Doot did the Elden Ring the conductors are fast using the electric saxophone. Yes, the saxophone did a bit a dot it is heard all the time.

The marathon ran continuously from January 5-12, so there are plenty of great moments besides these to catch if you missed it. All can be found on the Quick Games YouTube channel.

AGDQ is one of Games Done Quick’s annual charity events, with the next one, Back to Black coming up in February. Featuring Black hosts and sprinters, the event (Feb 6-9) will raise money for the non-profit racial justice organization, Race Forward. Over the years, Games Done Quick has raised more than $54 million for charities including the Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders. AGDQ raised nearly $2.5 million during its marathon last year, too.
