What is the application process like?
Students will submit a 2-minute original video telling a story about their passion. It can be as simple as recording from a smartphone or tablet. No essay knowledge or GPA required!

- What inspires you and how are you currently pursuing your passion?

- How do you turn your passion into action to make a difference?
- How will your educational path help you pursue your passion and create a positive impact on the world?
First impressions in the classroom
1. Make it a fun writing activity.
Ask students to explore their interests and write about them. Some questions to consider might include: What am I passionate about? What do I love to do that makes a positive impact on society? What do I strongly believe and stand for? Answering these questions will have students on their way to applying! They will just need to record a 2-minute video of themselves explaining their favorite things they have written about.
2. Learn video skills.
Introduce students to free platforms like Canva and Adobe Express where they can start learning about creating and editing videos. Ask students to record their own video about their favorite things. Then, they can test their video skills by editing parts of the video or adding special effects. Although these additions are not absolutely necessary for application submission, they can be a great way to help students learn new skills along the way.
3. Work on the app during your free time.
Got an extra 10 minutes at the end of class? Introducing students to the Taco Bell Foundation Live Más Scholarship! Allow them to spend more time in class to discuss their video application ideas. It would also be great to present during homeroom or study hall, when high school students have more time to get to work.
4. Explore activities related to their interests.
Have a career lesson class? Or a lesson that encourages students to think about their future? Invite your high school students to think about things they are truly passionate about and connect those passions with possible careers. This is a great activity to get students thinking about their future while gathering information to help them submit a video for this scholarship opportunity!
