Agatha May Always Play a Multi-Season Spell

Last week’s two-part season finale Agatha Everything Goes answered some of our questions about its surviving characters—but also concluded with the start of a new adventure for Billy (Joe Locke) and Agatha (Kathryn Hahn). Could there be more legends coming from beyond the Wizarding World of Marvel’s freneminding freneminding? A clue may come from the early stages of the awards season push.

Variations are taken from this idea first: Disney is local Agatha Everything Goes as a comedy series in its submissions to the Golden Globes, Emmy Awards, SAG Awards, and more. While the show didn’t always fit into that category (as noted above… there were a lot of deaths going down!), its status as a comic book adaptation kind of automatically pushes it there.

But it is not a funny classification that suggests more Agatha Everything Goes seasons: the fact that you can expect a show for one season—which is Agatha it’s long been thought—it’ll move into the “miniseries” or “limited series” category instead. Agathapredecessor, WandaVisionit collected 23 Emmy nominations, mostly under the “Limited or Anthology Series or Movie” banner (it ended up winning three, including the catchy “Agatha All Along”). “Comedy” means, the second season could be on the tarot cards.

As Variety continues to show, putting Agatha Everything Goes in the comedy category means it could be up against some serious competition, including previous winners Bova, Hacksagain Abbott Elementary. The commercial also provides more insight and context in relation to the Emmys specifically: “Although the show was originally named as a miniseries, the announcement regarding its category is changing more and more to indicate that. Agatha Everything… could go on for more than one season … There has been no official word from Disney or Marvel about a renewal. However, the studio will have to prove to the TV Academy that additional seasons are planned or make an official announcement, similar to what FX did. Shogun last year, he finally set the all-time record for winning the drama series.”

The rules of what qualifies as a limited series and what doesn’t seem complicated (The variety is in-depth if you want more details), but important to take in case Agatha Everything Goes it seems like a show maybe, maybe, perhaps come back. There are strong conclusions waiting to be followed if so-like, where the hell is Tommy?
