Adam Carolla rips California leaders for putting state ‘into the ground’ as fire burns: ‘Lunatic nutjobs’

Comedian Adam Carolla lashed out at California politicians, accusing “environmental lunatics” of driving the state “into the ground” as wildfires rip through Los Angeles County.

“Donald Trump said he’s going to clear the forest, and that’s when you know it’s not going to happen, because whatever he says, we do the opposite,” Carolla told Sean Hannity on Wednesday.

“He wants to build a border wall. We want to tear it down. He likes ivermectin. We say horse paste. He wants to clean up the forest. We’re trashing everything, so we’re going to do the opposite of everything Trump ever suggested, number one.”

“The state is run by a handful of environmental crazies like the Coastal Commission. Eight or 12 … unelected people who decide what happens in the entire state,” he continued. “That’s right, a bunch of crazy nuts ran everyone into the ground.”

Carolla, who was forced to leave on Tuesday, said she still does not know if there is anything left in her house.

“I would say it’s the best coin,” he said when asked if he thought his home was still intact. “I have seen a lot of pictures of the houses around my house that were burnt to the ground. There is still hope that my house is still intact, but if it is, it will be a miracle.”

Critics have scrutinized leaders like Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass about left-wing policy approaches to fire prevention, and many blame liberal leaders for the catastrophic damage.

Bass, in particular, has faced a lot of criticism for being on a trip to Ghana while his hometown was dealing with devastating fires and his budget cuts to the LA Fire Department last year.

“We had a big fire in Malibu three and a half weeks ago. It’s not like it was three and a half years ago. This is an ongoing issue,” said Carolla. “And Newsom likes to say it’s been a whole year now because he wants to talk about climate change, so he’s the first person to know.”

“They want to blame everything on climate change, but it’s their inaction,” he continued. “That’s why we’re in this problem.”

Carolla warned that Democrats will lose their blue states in places like Malibu, Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica if they don’t “get it together.”

“These are progressive cities that vote, collect money and fold their hands for these people, but they still don’t have a house, it’s because of you, so it’s time to unite,” he warned.

When he returned from his overseas trip on Wednesday, Bass was pressed on his fire prevention efforts, but had nothing to say.

Carolla said that liberal leaders are not used to challenging questions about their leadership, as the media is mainly on their side.

“City officials … are very left-leaning and very green, and they get angry if you ask any important questions,” he said. “They are not even used to being asked difficult questions because the media is in their hip pocket, so they don’t even know how to answer when asked a difficult question.”
