A nighttime view from a helicopter gives a glimpse of Vanderbilt’s viral celebration with a pole

The unranked Vanderbilt Commodores had the best win in the history of the football program over the weekend.

They took down Alabama, 40-35, on Saturday night, and the party was on.

Fans tore down the goalposts inside FirstBank Stadium after the victory, and it became the most important venue in Nashville.

The goalpost was taken down, taken out of the stadium, and escorted to Broadway.

It finally made it to the Cumberland River, and fans loved what they saw.

But, there is one sight that many have never seen: that of a helicopter flying overhead.

Not just bird’s eye view, night vision was there.

It wasn’t the first time the Tennesseans celebrated a victory over Alabama by taking the goalpost for a ride. Voluntary followers did same thing two years agowhere, at that time, No. 6 Tennessee defeating No. 3 Alabama.

The Commodores took a 23-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.
