Jonathan Scott Jokes About Zooey Deschanel Wedding Date Limbo

Jonathan Scott he is happy to answer questions about his impending marriage Zooey Deschanel – but admitted they still need to “figure it out” during an exclusive interview with him Us Weekly.
“I’m actually sick and tired of not understanding it yet,” Jonathan, 46, said while promoting his new show with brother Drew Scott titled. Don’t Hate Your House and Property Brothers. “We haven’t made any progress yet. We were just having fun.”
Drew, 46, commented that “people need to know” when the wedding will take place.
“My schedule matches his schedule,” Drew added. “I can’t plan holidays. There is nothing I can do.”
Drew’s wife, Linda Phanhe even told her not to ask her twin on the wedding day.

Despite the lack of plans, what she and Deschanel, 44, want from a wedding hasn’t changed at all.
Jonathan said Us in June that “their goal is to keep you close” according to the guest list. “The main thing” they want is a “kick-off party with the people we love,” he said at the time.
“The ceremony and the pomp and circumstance, we’ll take that away, then the reception,” added Jonathan. “It’s going to be a big blast.”
He also suspected that their relationship would not change at all since they have new labels as husband and wife.
“I’m already playing that role,” said Jonathan.
She met Deschanel in 2019 when they filmed an episode of Carpool Karaokeand they form a friendship at first. When Jonathan realized that the actress had separated from her ex-husband, Jacob Pechenikthings turned romantic. (Deschanel and Pechenik’s marriage ended in 2020 after nearly four years. They share children Elsie Otter, 8, and Charlie Wolf, 6.)
With so much wedding planning at the forefront of his mind as of late, Jonathan was able to catch up with brother Drew on their new HGTV show, Don’t Hate Your House and Property Brothers.
“I think we have shown the real issues and if someone has just renovated, they can appreciate if you encounter a hidden problem and it is a big expense,” said Jonathan on the show. “One of the houses we found had a hidden problem of $50,000, and that’s sad news to get, especially if you’ve exhausted your budget.”
The two had one specific hope at the heart of the show.
“Our goal was to help people love their homes,” said Jonathan. “Your home has to work hard to make life easier and you see the immature side of people come out and lose their minds, but you also see this beautiful correction in the end.”
Don’t Hate Your House and Property Brothers airs on HGTV Wednesdays at 9 pm ET.
