Warning: Spoilers below for Outer Banks season 4, episode 10.
While some fans said that pregnancy was coming, it wasn’t until the end OBX Season 4 dropped on Thursday, November 7, that fan speculation has been confirmed about Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) and her pregnancy test.
“There was something to do with it on some level, and it’s related to our larger vision for the series,” executive producer. Jonas Pate he told Cosmopolitan in an interview published Thursday.
Sarah originally told BFF Kiara Carrera (Madison Bailey) pregnancy news because she had just told John B. Routledge (Chase Stokes) was not interested in becoming a young mother. A great producer Josh Pate she told the newspaper that her resistance to motherhood was “because we gave it to her,” referring to the unplanned pregnancy.
A great producer Shannon Burke came in, saying that Sarah and John B “have been through a lot of different things as a couple, and this is kind of the next phase.”

When Sarah told her boyfriend about the pregnancy, John B tried to get a marriage license, but JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow) disrupted his plans with his agitation.
Throughout the season, JJ learned that his biological father is Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane), and, as a result, he began to wander, taking his friends to Morocco to look for Groff and the treasure called the blue crown. When JJ finally realizes that he has everything he wants in life with the Pogues, Groff kills him in the end and takes the green crown for himself.
JJ’s death shook all his friends, but it doesn’t change the fact that John B and Sarah are going to be parents. According to the cast, Sarah’s pregnancy is part of the bigger picture they are planning for the fifth and final season.
“We have this whole arc in our heads of where everyone is going to end up and what the ending is going to look like,” Burke said. Cosmo. “It just felt like it was time to play that card and move into the next phase of their relationship.”

He mentioned that the couple has already weathered every storm imaginable. “It is obvious that they have been together for a long time [not been] 100 percent honest with each other and they do the wrong things, and they have,” added Burke. “They have committed themselves now and this is the next phase.”
While the couple’s unplanned pregnancy felt right to the EPs, Jonas said they “talked through all the ramifications” of Sarah’s pregnancy story “early on,” including whether she should choose to stay pregnant.
“Like Shannon said, they’re committed to each other, and they’re married — in their own weird way with beer rings. So it feels real,” Jonas concluded. “And there was a bigger statement that we were thinking about outside of these two characters.”
Sarah’s pregnancy was not a public issue for some fans – and castmates Austin North He revealed that he was also surprised by the twist.
“Sarah’s pregnancy is quite the curveball,” North, who stars with Sarah’s boyfriend Topper Thornton, told EXCLUSIVELY. Us Weekly on Friday, November 8. “And it is in the middle of the treasure hunt. It’s like, ‘Okay, the time is right!’”
