Elon Musk is kicking off daily million-dollar donations to pro-Trump petition signers

New GOP megadonor, Elon Musk, announced that his American PAC will award $1 million every day to a new person who signs his petition until Election Day.

“We really want to get as many people as possible to sign this petition, so I have a surprise,” Musk said Saturday at a town hall in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. “And we’re going to randomly give out a million dollars to people who signed the petition. Every day, until the election.”

The petition reads, “The First and Second Amendments guarantee freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. By signing below, I pledge to support the First and Second Amendments.”

The first million-dollar prize was awarded to John Dreher, a self-described “huge fan” of Musk.

“I found your history 10 years ago, and I’ve been following you ever since,” Dreher told Musk. “Big fan.”

Musk asked the new billionaire to continue championing the cause.

Musk toured Pennsylvania this week, highlighting the importance of the critical state of the field in the 2024 election.

According to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC), Musk was the sole contributor to America PAC, making approximately $75 million from July to the end of September. During that three-month period, the PAC Musk founded spent about $72 million, according to that FEC disclosure.

The world’s richest man, who said he voted for Democratic presidential candidates including Joe Biden in the past, endorsed Trump this summer following the first attempt to assassinate the 45th president on July 13.

America PAC set a goal of getting 1 million voters across Pennsylvania and the other swing states of Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and North Carolina to sign a petition in support of First and North Carolina. Second Amendments on October 21.

Musk, who is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and the largest owner of the social network X, is now considered a Republican megadonor because of his large contribution to America’s PAC. Other Republican megadonors include banking heir Timothy Mellon and casino billionaire Miriam AdelsonReuters reports.
