Chris Pine’s lead attorney dismissed a response to Yu’s motion on October 7, saying that scheduling conflicts necessitated the postponement of the tree trial. Attorney Thomas Brown had a long trial in San Diego and his “limited availability” made him unable to attend. Why other legal representatives from Brown’s office failed to file was not disclosed.
Yu’s lawyers believe that Star Trek the actor’s actions in trying to get the money down point to his refusal to cooperate. According to their filing, Chris Pine’s failure to appear for the release of the money halts the adoption process and accuses the star of “unacceptable” behavior.
