Thousands of Bank of America customers have been locked out of accounts

Thousands of Bank of America customers took to social media Wednesday to report an online glitch that prevented them from accessing their accounts or showing zero balances.
It is not clear how widespread this problem is but some reports indicate that about 17,000 customers have been affected by this problem so far. Customers log into X’s website to write about their experience. Others complained that Bank of America should have informed them about this issue.
A Bank of America spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Customers on social media have reported having trouble logging into their accounts and receiving error messages that their accounts cannot be recovered and that their current balance amount is not available.
