‘Abuse of power’: House GOP opens investigation into Ukraine president’s trip to Pennsylvania battlefield
The House Oversight Committee is investigating the Biden-Harris administration’s alleged use of taxpayer-funded resources to fly Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to a battlefield in Pennsylvania ahead of the November presidential election, Fox News Digital has learned.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., wrote letters to the White House, the Pentagon and the Justice Department on Wednesday seeking documents about the administration’s alleged “abuse of government resources.” allow Zelenskyy to “interfere in the 2024 presidential election.”
“In 2019, the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives impeached President Donald J. Trump for abuse of power under the theory that he tried to use a foreign leader – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy – to benefit his 2020 presidential campaign, despite the lack of any leadership is proof that President Trump is doing wrong,” Comer wrote.

Comer, however, said that the Biden-Harris administration “recently flew the same foreign leader – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy – on a flight funded by American taxpayers to Pennsylvania, which is the battleground for the upcoming 2024 presidential election, which has been described as a frame. ‘The most difficult battleground that Vice for President Kamala Harris to win.’

“The Committee seeks to determine whether the Biden-Harris Administration attempted to use an outside leader to benefit Vice President Harris’ campaign and, if so, abuse of power,” Comer wrote.
Comer said his committee is investigating the circumstances that led to the “justification” of Zelenskyy’s transportation on an Air Force Department plane to Pennsylvania.
Comer said Zelenskyy’s trip included a stop in Pennsylvania to meet with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.
Comer also cited a recent interview with Zelenskyy, in which he criticized Trump and his running mate, Sen.

“He also expressed his belief that President Trump and his administration will not be able to stop the war, even though this is one of the main platforms of President Trump’s campaign (and peace in the region under the entire previous Trump administration),” wrote Comer. .
“This is a speech from a foreign leader who was released expecting a visit funded by US taxpayers about a current political opponent,” Comer wrote. “The Committee is investigating any communication or connection between the Biden-Harris Administration, the Office of the Governor of Pennsylvania, and President Zelenskyy for the use or solicitation of the use of government assets for the political benefit of the presidential campaign of Vice President Harris.”

In his letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Comer reminded that the DOJ’s focus is on combating foreign election interference, especially from adversaries.

However, Comer said the House Oversight Committee “believes that no foreign actor — even if the DOJ is deemed ‘bad’ — should be allowed to interfere in American elections.”
Comer’s letters were addressed to Garland, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Assistant to the President and White House Counsel Edward Siskel.
Comer requested documents and records from the agencies on Oct. 2.
