Marvel Snap returns online in the US

Marvel Snap is back online in the US after being shut down alongside TikTok, Second Dinner has announced. The game developer also said in X that it is partnering with a new publisher and working to bring more resources in-house to “make sure this never happens again.” This weekend, Marvel Snap has gone offline along with other apps developed or affiliated with ByteDance, including video editing tool CapCut, social media app Lemon8 and, of course, TikTok. The collectible card game is published by Nuverse, a subsidiary of ByteDance, for Android, iOS and Windows.

We couldn’t find the app to download when we checked, but Second Dinner said we’re responding with an X that it’s still working on bringing the game back to Google Play and the App Store. “It may take some time,” added the developer. It also said it is still working on resolving in-app purchase errors that fans who already own the game are experiencing. Currently, players can purchase credits, boosters, passes and packages at Marvel Snap a web store like Second Supper is working on fixing the issue.

TikTok was the first ByteDance app to return to the Internet. It was less than a full day in the US before announcing that it would restore its service to the country “in accordance with [its] service providers.” CapCut and Lemon8 are still unavailable to this day. Shortly after taking office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order suspending for 75 days the law that banned TikTok in the country. Trump, in turn, wanted to ban TikTok in the US when of his, said the timing of enforcement is “disturbing.” [his] the ability to evaluate the national security and foreign policy of the prohibition Act before it goes into effect.”
