Helldivers Devs Hope Movie Will Hire A-List Cannon Fodder

Earlier this month, Sony revealed that it plans to make live-action movies Horizon Zero Dawn again The hells. The latter is a co-op shooter about space soldiers fighting aliens, and it’s not often that sci-fi war films have big stars: your Tom Cruises, Chris Pratts, and the like. If it were to work at Arrowhead Game Studios, said film would bring in big names… and then have them all. die painfully.

Arrowhead recently held a Q&A at The hells Discord, and some players had questions about the movie. When asked about another player, CEO Shams Jorjani said the studio “hopes for as many A-list players as possible, as long as they’re all killed violently quickly.” After the movie’s announcement, fans teased a fictional cast featuring Pratt, Jack Black, and Adam Sandler as the game’s inexplicable creatures or marines, such as the Bile Titan. Jorjani’s comments have since inspired the players to continue running with this joke, so now stars like Sean Bean, Aaron Paul, and Dwayne Johnson have been included in the cast. Do you have a star that you would like to see in this movie? Tell us in the comments!

Joking aside, Jorjani told another player that Arrowhead has always been known for “certain” things about the group. The hells the movie. But he and CCO Johan Pilestedt think the studio’s involvement in the film should only go so far. On Twitter, Pilestedt recently explained the developers “are not Hollywood people, and we don’t know what it takes to make a movie. Therefore we do not, and should not, have the last word.” The amount of input game developers have in adapting varies: the creators of The Last of Us again League of Legends are heavily involved in those shows, while others have relatively small chefs in the kitchen.

When it comes to the quality of the finished product, that too varies, and there is no hard science to determine how much of a creator’s input makes it successful in the eyes of both newcomers and longtime fans. It sounds like The hells The film is currently in its early stages, should Sony go ahead with it. But given the implications of these games, it sounds like you’ll have to try from misrepresenting them.
