That’s not to say that audiences should just shut up and eat trashy movies, of course, but Sebastian Stan is adamant that moviegoers should appreciate the impact Marvel has on cinema as a whole.
There has been an ongoing narrative that the success of the MCU has pushed smaller and smaller films out of the mainstream, leading studios to bank on one budget after another in an effort to keep up.
However, the actor believes that there is a lot of downside that we should be aware of. “This is the vein that runs through the system of this whole Hollywood machine,” he said, which “feeds in a lot more ways than people admit.” It’s impossible to prove this, of course, but that theory goes a long way toward explaining why Sebastian is the (ahem) “Stan” of Marvel.
