More than one company brought a robot vacuum with a mechanical arm to CES 2025

It turns out that Roborock isn’t the only company bringing a robot vacuum with a mechanical arm to CES 2025. Rival company Dreme, which unveiled its stair-climbing robot vacuum earlier in the week, is also working on a robotic vacuum cleaner. a pick-up arm.

The device is still a prototype, according to the company, but the as-yet-unnamed robo vac was on full display at Dream’s CES booth. Considering it’s still a prototype, the actual arm looks a lot stronger compared to the one on Roborock’s Saros Z70. It was very dense and had larger “claws” that looked like it could pick up slightly heavier objects. (Roborock says its vac can pick up an object weighing 300 grams.)

Unfortunately, the Dreme didn’t show that it was holding anything, but I was able to watch the arm extend and retract a few times. It appeared to be in the same device as the X50 as the prototype vacuum also moved on “legs,” like Dreme’s step-by-step X50.

A Drepe representative at the booth told me that the company had been working on a prototype for some time, but decided to accelerate its plans to fill the space at CES. After looking up, I knew exactly what he was talking about: Dreame’s booth was placed directly across from Roborock, which displayed a large image of the Saros Z70 with its arms crossed over its booth.
