Rapper 50 Cent shares why people are ‘targeting’ Trump after the assassination attempt

Rapper 50 Cent said he would not vote, but that didn’t stop him from admitting that people like him are aligning themselves with former President Trump in the way he reacted after his first attempts to assassinate him.

The rapper, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, sat down for an interview Saturday morning to discuss his new book “The Accomplice” where he was asked about his stance on the presidential election.

“I would like to get out of it. You know, well, look, things happened as Trump was shot and they started playing ‘Many Men’ and it jumped 250% in the broadcast,” said Jackson.

This is a reference to his 2003 hit “Many Men,” a song Trump later belted out during a live broadcast just days after the first assassination attempt. The song had lyrics like “Many men wish to die over me. Blood in my eye, dawg, and I can’t see, I’m trying to be what I’m meant to be.”

Jackson later commented on Trump after that moment, especially after Trump raised his fist in the now-iconic photo.

“You say fight back. That’s right. And that’s exactly what I did after I was shot. I just went into a fight mode,” he said. “People feel that way.”

50 Cent has flirted with the idea of ​​supporting Trump in the past. In June, he told CBS News reporter Nikole Killion that he believes black men are “associating with Trump” because they have “RICO convictions. [too].”

Earlier this year, he added, “I think Trump is going to be president again, but I’m not going to say that.”

Most notably, in October 2020, Jackson told his Instagram followers to vote for Trump after seeing a report suggesting that New York City residents could be taxed 62% under President Biden.

“WHAT THE F–K! (VOTE ForTRUMP) IM OUT,” Jackson wrote. “F–K NEW YORK The KNICKS will never win anyway. I don’t care if Trump doesn’t like black people 62% are you out of ya f–king mind.”
