Jared Goff Reveals His Home Was Robbed ‘Same Way’ as Travis Kelce

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff revealed that he had been the victim of a home burglary that sounded very similar to the recent robbery involving Travis Kelce again Joe Burrow.

“I got busted as a rookie,” Goff, 30, told reporters Wednesday, Dec. 18. “The same way. So I was on the road, I got busted, I stole some stuff.”

Goff’s rookie season came in 2016 after being drafted No. 1 overall by the Los Angeles Rams. Traded to Lions in 2021.

“It wasn’t the news of the whole country because I was a climber who didn’t play,” Goff continued. “But I’m glad it wasn’t national news because it’s breaking. So since then, when I’m on the road, there are people there.”

Goff made his NFL debut in November 2016 after taking over The Keenum casestarted at quarterback in the Rams’ first nine games of the season.

The thieves, who were never caught, stole electronics and shoes from Goff’s home.

“It was weird,” he said. “They could have taken more but they didn’t. It was weird.”

Goff, who married wife Christen Harper Goff in June, he insisted that having security in the area when he traveled was “kind of ridiculous.”

“We’re on the road, we’re on TV, everyone can see where we are in public, so it’s like everyone knows you’re not at home,” he explained. “So when that happens, I said, it’s not worth trying to save money. Just hire the young men to stay there, in the house and watch over them.”

The homes of Kelce, 35, and Burrow, 28, were both targeted while both players were away playing for their respective teams.

Kelce’s place in Leawood, Kansas, was robbed on October 7 when he and the Kansas City Chiefs were playing the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

Police reported $20,000 was taken and the back door was broken. In November, Rhode Island police recovered Kelce’s watch that was taken during the burglary.

Burrow’s Ohio home was robbed on December 9 when he and the Cincinnati Bengals were in Texas playing the Dallas Cowboys. Model Olivia Ponton, who was at Burrow’s home at the time, told police the house had been “burgled.”

In addition, Belton, Missouri, is the home of the Chiefs Patrick Mahomes it was broken into on October 6, the day before the Kelce robbery.

Investigations into residential burglaries in Kelce, Burrow and Mahomes are ongoing.
