“I was blown away when I heard the news,” Brady told Fox’s Kevin Burkhardt. “I didn’t think that was the opportunity he was looking for. But obviously they got an amazing coach.
“Being in the locker room with him when I played with him for so many years, those guys are going to play really hard. He’s going to coach them well. It’s a big advantage for all the players that go into that program because they get the best. NFL coach you’ve ever seen – now it’s at the college level.”
Burkhardt asked Brady how he thought Belichick’s hiring would go.

The former New England Patriots quarterback admitted his former coach wasn’t the warmest person in the world.
“He’s not the warmest and hottest guy. It’s not like there’s tons of … I remember one year we won the Super Bowl our first year, we got in a limo down Bourbon Street after we beat the Rams in 2001, he got in the limo in the back game, the next morning at the MVP press conference he goes, ‘You know what, Tom? That was as warm and intense as it gets for Coach Belichick,'” Brady said.
Belichick will replace Mack Brown as head coach. The Tar Heels are 6-6 this year and play UConn in the Fenway Bowl. Freddie Kitchens will coach the team in this game.
